Aucoc was one of the top French silver-manufacturing firms of its day. Like others the firm was strongly influenced by earlier historical styles. "Louis Quatorze, Louis Quinze and Louis Seize – these are all the rage" noted one critic in the "Watchmaker, Jeweller and Silversmith", 1889, p. 44. Aucoc exhibited at a number of the international fairs including an exhibition at St. Petersburg, 1902 organised by the Comté François de Exposition à l'Etranger.
