Literature

XXI and p.259, pls. 4.7.11 and 4.7.12, illustrating similar candelabra of 1780 with floral branches issuing from a vase, the second in the Musee Jaquemart, Paris and the latter in the Victoria and Albert Museum, London; p. 259, pl. 4.7.13 shows another example at Waddesdon Manor with classical maiden mask heads. Very similar satyr heads with differing horns appear on a tripod of 1785 in the Wallace Collection, London, illustrated in Ottomeyer and Pröschel, p. 268, pl 4.9.10.
