A very fine Regency sterling silver wine cooler by William Frisbee (b. circa 1760 d. 1820)

Fully hallmarked. Height 25 cm.
William Frisbee, London silversmith of repute, became a freeman of the Goldsmith's Company in 1782. First recorded in 1791 as a plateworker in partnership with John Edwards, in 1792 he went into partnership with one of England's greatest silversmiths, Paul Storr at Cock Lane. By 1798 Frisbee was working independently and by 1811 was in partnership with his son, John.
